Manage Swelling and Bruising

Swelling and bruising are common after rhinoplasty. Use cold compresses as directed and keep your head elevated to minimize these effects.

Protect Your Nose

Avoid strenuous activities and any pressure on your nose during the recovery period to ensure proper healing and avoid complications.
3

Follow Incision Care Instructions

Keep incisions clean and follow your surgeon’s care instructions to prevent infection and promote faster healing.
4

Avoid Glasses or Sunglasses

Refrain from wearing glasses or sunglasses that rest on your nose for several weeks to avoid affecting the surgical outcome.
5

Attend Follow-Up Appointments

Regular follow-ups with your surgeon ensure your recovery is progressing well and allow for any necessary adjustments.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Much Does Rhinoplasty Cost in Chattanooga TN and the surrounding area?
The average cost of rhinoplasty at Nease Cosmetic Surgery is usually between $7,500-$9,500. Rhinoplasty surgery will vary from patient to patient, and your total cost will be discussed in detail during your initial consultation. The doctor will help you decide which options will provide the best results for your desired goals and be able to give you an exact price for the procedure. Sometimes, insurance will cover the cost of some rhinoplasty procedures, depending on the reason they’re being performed—but you’ll want to check with your insurance company to be sure. We accept cash, check, or credit cards and also offer financing options for our patients.
Am I a Good Candidate for Rhinoplasty?
If you’re healthy and over the age of about 14 or 15 years, chances are you’ll be a good candidate for rhinoplasty. It’s important that your facial skeleton has matured before you undergo rhinoplasty. This is usually around 14-15 years old for girls and about 15 for boys.
What is Revision Rhinoplasty?
Revision rhinoplasty, sometimes referred to as secondary rhinoplasty, is the term applied when a patient has had a previous rhinoplasty that didn’t resolve their issues, either cosmetically or functionally. Revision rhinoplasty is often an even more complex operation than the original surgery. Rhinoplasty specialists, like Dr. Nease, typically have the most experience with revision rhinoplasty and are considered best able to perform the necessary corrections.
What is Rhinoplasty Recovery Like?
Most of the time, recovery following rhinoplasty is relatively short. Most patients will have to wear a nasal splint for about a week or so. There will be some swelling in the face and possible bruising that usually begins to look and feel better after about three days.

Total and complete healing can take up to six months, which is when the final results of your “new nose” will be most evident.

Your doctor will give you specific post-op instructions, but generally speaking, strenuous activity should be avoided for about three to six weeks following the surgery. You should be able to return to your normal activities as early as two to three weeks.
