Age lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, discoloration…all these can contribute to your skin not looking its best. Microneedling is one way to combat these issues, and is available at Nease Cosmetic Surgery. Under the direction of triple board-certified Dr. Carey Nease, microneedling is available to residents in Chattanooga, Nashville, Scottsboro and surrounding communities.
What is Microneedling?
The purpose of microneedling is to create a controlled injury to the skin, which triggers the process of collagen production and natural rejuvenation of the skin. It involves using a device with very small, very fine needles that puncture the uppermost skin layers.
At Nease Cosmetic Surgery, we offer Vivace™ microneedling, which is the most advanced microneedling system available. The Vivace™ system uses extremely small, gold-tipped needles, and a highly advanced algorithm along with an improved, more advanced motor, to deliver spectacular results with little to no pain.
Microneedling is useful in correcting skin discoloration, diminishing age-related lines and wrinkles, treating acne scars as well as scarring from other causes.
How Much Does Microneedling Cost?
The cost range for Vivace™ radio-frequency (RF) microneedling at Nease Cosmetic Surgery is $400 to $600. The cost of microneedling procedures can vary from one case to the next, depending on the extent, size, and number of treatments performed. You’ll be given an accurate cost during your initial consultation, once your treatment plan has been determined and agreed upon.
Most insurance companies will not cover the cost of cosmetic surgeries and procedures, but you may want to check with your insurance provider to find out for sure.
We make an effort at Nease Cosmetic Surgery to keep our procedures as affordable for our patients as possible. We do this by offering complimentary consultations and several different payment methods, including cash, credit cards and financing through CareCredit®.
What Are the Benefits of Microneedling?
There are so many benefits to microneedling, even extending beyond the visibly obvious physical benefits. Frequently experienced benefits include:
- Minimally invasive procedure with results comparable to a mini face or neck lift
- Immediate, noticeable results
- Zero downtime and practically pain-free for most patients
- Tightens skin and minimizes pore size
- Diminishes signs of aging, discoloration, and scarring
- Dramatically increases self-confidence and improves self-image
Am I a Good Candidate for Microneedling?
Chances are, if you’re a healthy adult with no major medical issues, you’ll be a good candidate for microneedling. You will need to be clear of any active infections, but otherwise, most healthy adults will be able to take advantage of the benefits microneedling offers.
What is Microneedling Recovery Like?
Your skin will likely be slightly red and feel mildly tender the first few days after the treatment. It’s a non-invasive procedure, so there’s really very little need (if any) for downtime. You can typically return to your normal activities the day following the treatment.
Your skin will be sensitive, so precautions need to be taken to protect it, particularly from sun exposure. Ask your doctor or aesthetician about using makeup to camouflage any residual redness.
You’ll be given post-procedure instructions, which should be closely adhered to for optimal recovery results. You should be able to see full results in a few weeks.
